Celeste Cortesi: “I’ve always wanted to be kontrabida”
CELESTE CORTESI – The Miss Universe Philippines 2022 titleholder recently shared that she wants to play a “kontrabida” someday.
The beauty queen is one of the newer talents of Sparkle GMA Artist Center who renewed their contracts with the management at the “Signed for Stardom” event last Friday, September 22, 2023.
During the program, the actress said that she has always wanted to step out of her comfort zone. She added that she wanted to try something new since she’s done with pageantry.
Celeste also said that she’s looking forward to fulfilling one of her dreams, which is to act. According to the beauty queen, she wants to play a “kontrabida” role because it’s a good challenge for her.
“I’ve always wanted to step out of my comfort zone, to be honest. And since I’m done with pageantry now — chapter’s closed — I wanted to try something new and I’ve always wanted to act, so I think that’s what I’m looking forward to,” she said. “I’ve always wanted to be kontrabida.”
She went on to express her gratitude to GMA Network and Sparkle for giving her those new opportunities.
Celeste represented the Philippines at the Miss Universe pageant last year where she failed to advance to the Top 16.
She passed on her Miss Universe Philippines crown to pageant sister and fellow Kapuso artist Michelle Dee. The Miss Universe 2023 is set to take place in November 2023 in El Salvador where Michelle will vie to take home the Miss Universe crown.
Meanwhile, the beauty queen was recently tapped as a part of the selection committee of Miss Universe Egypt and a judge of Miss Universe Thailand.
