PATTARAMON THOCHAROEN – A 27-year-old street sweeper from Thailand known as “Bow” is earning P80K a month through Tiktok.
Bow has gained fame on TikTok with over 300,000 followers who affectionately label her as “Thailand’s most beautiful street sweeper.” Despite her rising popularity, some netizens have mocked her for wearing makeup while performing her street-sweeping duties.
In an interview with The Strait Times on August 20, 2023, Bow responded to her critics, questioning whether she couldn’t feel beautiful while fulfilling her demanding job. She stated that wearing makeup is for her personal satisfaction.
Bow’s TikTok videos are characterized by humor, featuring her dancing and reacting to amusing experiences during her street cleaning tasks. One video from last year showcased her rant against an elderly woman who criticized her for prioritizing appearance despite being a street sweeper. Bow shared her belief that striving for personal happiness and self-expression is essential.
While she takes pride in her street sweeper role that supports her retired parents, she also enjoys financial stability from her TikTok endeavors. Besides her monthly earnings of 12,000 baht (PHP 19,421.25) as a Bangkok Metropolitan Authority employee, her social media activities bring in additional income. Bow earns up to 50,000 baht (PHP 80,921.87) per month through brand reviews, product sales, and virtual TikTok Gifts from her followers, which she converts into cash. This financial stability allows her to indulge in small luxuries and spend quality time with her family.
Despite her TikTok fame, Bow remains grounded and recognizes the transient nature of online recognition. She is focused on saving a substantial portion of her earnings for her children’s future. She also appreciates the opportunity to share her insights and perspectives on life with others.
