President Bongbong Marcos on Mike Enriquez: “He dedicated his life to delivering unbiased news to the Filipino people”

PRESIDENT BONGBONG MARCOS — The President mourned the death of veteran broadcast journalist Mike Enriquez, who passed away on Tuesday.

In his post on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Wednesday, the President sent his condolences to Mike’s family and loved ones. He even described the veteran broadcast journalist as the “pillar” in the broadcasting industry.

According to the President, the veteran broadcast journalist dedicated his life to “delivering unbiased news to the Filipino people”.

Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cheloy Garafil, who is a former journalist, also extended her condolences to Mike’s family.

In a statement shortly after GMA Network reported the passing of the veteran broadcast journalist, Garafil paid tribute to Mike’s remarkable contribution in shaping the landscape of unbiased journalism in the country. According to Garafil, the veteran broadcast journalist is a pillar of journalism.

The veteran broadcast journalist has passed away on August 29, 2023. He was 71.

GMA Network said in a statement on Tuesday that Mike’s dedication to the broadcasting industry will serve as an inspiration to all. The network also pray for the eternal repose of the veteran broadcast journalist.

Mike was one of the anchors of GMA Network’s flagship newscast “24 Oras”. He also hosted the long-running GMA Public Affairs program “Imbestigador”.

A small tribute was set up at the veteran broadcast journalist’s star on the German Moreno Walk of Fame in Quezon City, as seen in a Facebook post of Eastwood City.
