Lyca Gairanod goes to a dumpster in the US to scavenge again
LYCA GAIRANOD – The singer-actress still finds joy in scavenging for discarded items and recyclables, just like she used to do when she was a child.
Recently, she experienced scavenging again during her trip to the US. However, this time it was not to support her family’s livelihood but rather to create content for her YouTube channel.
In her vlog, Lyca can be seen visiting a steel dumpster in San Diego, California, where she scavenges for items that have been thrown away but are still usable. She plans to find things that she can bring back to the Philippines and make good use of.
It is evident that Lyca is still skilled in scavenging, just as she was in her childhood days. Many netizens commented that this proves that the “The Voice Kids” grand winner hasn’t forgotten her humble beginnings.
However, some people expressed concern for her well-being and suggested that she should have worn gloves as a protective measure while digging through the trash. They worried that she might get sick from the activity she did for her vlog.
In the later part of her vlog, she expressed her disappointment as she didn’t find anything useful during her dumpster visit. Despite this, she remains positive and grateful for her experiences. “Yun lang ang pinuntahan namin dito ha? Yung dumpster, dumpster. Ano kayo, sanay ako sa trabahong ganyan, ‘no!” she said.
Lyca traveled to the US to be one of the special guests of Arthur Nery during his US and Canada tour, which took place from July 21 to July 29.
