Meet Amelyn Zafra Medina, a super fan of Elisse Joson who is now a successful businesswoman
AMELYN ZAFRA MEDINA – A former garbage collector and laundrywoman at the same time fan of Elisse Joson is now a successful businesswoman.
Amelyn, originally from Nueva Ecija, experienced numerous hardships in life but she persevered to overcome them and achieve her dreams for herself and her family. According to her, she had to scavenge for garbage, do laundry, and clean other people’s houses just to have money for school. Her family struggled to have complete meals in a day, and sometimes they were fortunate to eat twice. They even resorted to eating leftover food from fast-food restaurants that they found in the trash, washing and cooking it again.
Despite these challenges, Amelyn remained determined to improve her circumstances and secure a better future. She worked various jobs, including being an ukay-ukay vendor, a promodizer in malls, and a staff member in a beauty clinic. She nurtured a dream of having her own business while working, and she eventually enrolled in a beauty academy to pursue her passion for eyebrow grooming.
In 2019, Amelyn started studying micro blading, and her hard work paid off as she enrolled in more academies and even traveled abroad, all because of her skills in eyebrow grooming. She also mentioned her admiration for Kapamilya actress Elisse Joson, who served as an inspiration in her journey.
“Dati ko pa talaga gustung-gusto ko si Ellise Joson, nasubaybayan at nagustuhan ko siya sa PBB. Ang ganda-ganda niya at mukhang mabait talaga. At kahit mommy na siya grabe hindi nagbabago ang itsura niya, parang mas lalo pa nga siyang gumanda ngayon. Sobrang saya ko at lalo pa akong humanga sa kanya dahil pareho na kaming nasa line ng beauty business — ang pagkikilay kung saan pareho kami ng training center na pinasukan,” she said.
According to Bandera, Amelyn now owns several businesses, including branches of Bareface Beautique wellness and beauty clinic, Beautique Aesthetic Training Center and Architecture Studio, and Ibarra Burayag Architecture Studio.
