Cristy Fermin: “Sana turuan niya [James] ng magbasketball si Bimby para hindi sinasabi ng mga kababayan natin na magiging tv host daw”
BIMBY AQUINO-YAP – In her online show ‘Showbiz Now Na’, veteran columnist Cristy Fermin expressed her hope that the son of Kris Aquino would follow in the footsteps of his father, James Yap, who is renowned as one of the country’s most talented basketball players.
During the discussion, Cristy, along with Rommel Chika and Wendell Alvarez, talked about the reunion between Bimby and James on Father’s Day. They pondered over the potential career choices Bimby could make, including the possibility of becoming a television host like his mother, Kris Aquino.
Cristy shared her desire for Bimby, who inherited his father’s height, to pursue basketball. She expressed the hope that Bimby would learn the sport from James, so that people wouldn’t perceive him solely as a potential TV host. “Sana turuan niya [James] ng magbasketball si Bimby para hindi sinasabi ng mga kababayan natin na magiging tv host daw,” she said.
To this, Wendell jokingly suggested that he could consider playing volleyball instead, as it is a popular sport among females. Wendell’s comment emphasized the perception of basketball as a predominantly male sport.
The hosts expressed their eagerness to see him utilize his height and excel on the basketball court, highlighting that he may just need more practice to reach his potential.
As of now, the son of Kris Aquino and James Yap has not yet disclosed his plans regarding his future path, leaving it open for speculation.
