Actor Awra Briguela Released on Bail

AWRA BRIGUELA – The actor was released from the Makati City Custodial Jail on the night of July 1st after his legal team posted bail amounting to PHP6,000. He had been held in detention for several days following his involvement in a brawl outside a bar in Poblacion, Makati City.

Initially, Awra faced multiple charges, including alarm and scandal, physical injuries, direct assault, and disobedience to authority. However, Makati Chief of Police, Col. Edward Cutiyog, revealed that the charges had been reduced to slight physical injury and simple disobedience to a person in authority. Members of the media attempted to obtain a statement from Awra and his camp before leaving the custodial jail but were unsuccessful.

During his arrest, the 19-year-old Kapamilya talent became a trending topic on social media as his friends and fans rallied to his defense using the hashtag #JusticeForAwra. Netizens also expressed their support for the celebrity on various social media platforms.

Riva Quenery, one of Awra’s closest friends in the industry, expressed her sadness and frustration on social media upon learning about the incident. She visited Awra at the police station in Makati, where he was detained, and was deeply affected by the sight of her friend. Zeinab Harake also took to Twitter to show her support for Awra, emphasizing how fortunate people are to have him as a friend.

As of now, Awra has yet to address the allegations made against him after social media influencer Xian Gaza leaked CCTV footage from the bar, insinuating that Awra and his friends were the ones who provoked the fight.
