Vice Ganda expresses a desire to face Jessica Soho in an interview
VICE GANDA – The Unkabogable Comedian expressed his desire to face award-winning and veteran broadcast journalist, Jessica Soho, in an interview.
During the contract signing between GMA and ABS-CBN on June 28, 2023 which resulted in the airing of ‘It’s Showtime’ on GTV, Vice expressed his intention to appear in some Kapuso shows. He also expressed his desire to be a guest on a particular program on GMA. He mentioned that he discussed this request with Tita Cory (Vidanes) in relation to their promotional plans, stating, “Sabi ko, meron lang akong request, since maggi-guest tayo sa ibang GMA shows, puwede ko bang i-request na mag-guest ako sa programang ito. Gusto ko lang lumabas sa programang ito, kung uubra lang.”
Netizens immediately began speculating about which program Vice was referring to, and many believed it to be ‘Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho’ (KMJS). This speculation was based on the history between Vice and Jessica, as the comedian had sparked controversy in 2013 during his ‘I-Vice Ganda Mo ‘Ko’ concert by making Jessica the subject of his jokes. The joke, which compared Jessica to a ‘lechon’ (roasted pig), nearly jeopardized Vice’s career.
Vice later apologized to Jessica for his remarks, but the journalist responded with a statement, acknowledging the public apology and expressing hope that it was made with sincere intentions to move past the issue. Jessica indirectly addressed the joke during her news program, ‘State of the Nation.’
Vice also revealed that he attempted to reach out to Jessica directly, but she declined to speak with him. As of now, the details surrounding their interaction remain undisclosed. This led netizens to become even more excited, as they anticipated the possibility of Jessica finally confronting Vice, a decade after the controversial incident.
