PATRICK GUZMAN – The cause of death of the Filipino-Canadian actor and the ’90s heartthrob has been disclosed following his death.
Patrick embarked on his entertainment career after catching the attention of the public through a Swatch television advertisement. He then took on the role of a guest co-host in the musical variety show VIP, where he appeared alongside Vilma Santos. During the 1990s and early 2000s, he made numerous appearances in films before eventually deciding to settle in Canada and prioritize his family.
Sadly, on June 16, Patrick passed away in Canada, causing a sudden disruption to his wife Liezel and their 15-year-old son’s plans for a housewarming event on June 23. Tess Cusipag, the editor and publisher of Balita Media Inc., mentioned that the actor’s family is expected to release an official statement regarding funeral arrangements.
Upon hearing the news of his death, condolences poured in from various personalities within the entertainment industry. Ogie Alcasid, a singer-actor who had collaborated with Patrick on films such as “Mama’s Boys 2: Let’s Go Na” and “Manolo en Michelle: Hapi Together,” expressed his shock and sadness on Instagram, bidding farewell to his friend.
Actress, acting coach, and director Beverly Vergel, who worked alongside Patrick in the 2019 film “BROmance The Movie,” also mourned his loss. She described Patrick as a kind, sincere, and gentle soul, emphasizing that he was an exceptional person who deserved all the praise and admiration.
