Paolo Contis: “I hope you give us a chance kasi, at the end of the day, pinatawag kami para tumulong sa tao, makapagpasaya ng tao”
PAOLO CONTIS – The Eat Bulaga host appealed to the public to give them a chance.
In an interview with 24 Oras on the evening of June 5, 2023, he clarified that he, Betong Sumaya and Buboy Villar never had any intention to replace or compete with TVJ, the iconic triumvirate of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.
Earlier that day, Paolo, Betong, Buboy, along with Alexa Miro and the twins Mavy Legaspi and Cassy Legaspi, were introduced as the new hosts of Eat Bulaga! following the departure of TVJ and the Dabarkads from TAPE Inc.
According to Paolo, their sole objective is to carry out their job and bring happiness to the people. “We are very honored na kami yung napili to continue the show. Siyempre lilinawin lang naman natin, walang planong palitan, wala kaming chance palitan si Tito, Vic, and Joey. Wala kaming chance dun. We were just called to work, to continue the show because ang gusto ng TAPE office na makapagbigay ng papremyo, saya, every day,” he said.
As hosts of the revamped Eat Bulaga!, they feel a strong obligation to give their all. They cannot turn down the responsibility of bringing joy to people’s lives. “Bilang kami yung kinuha ng TAPE, responsibilidad namin na gawin yung 100 percent namin,” he said. “I hope you give us a chance kasi, at the end of the day, pinatawag kami para tumulong sa tao, makapagpasaya ng tao. How can you say no to that?”
Meanwhile, the arrival of the new hosts of Eat Bulaga was not well received by the solid fans of Eat Bulaga.
