Annually, a lot of Filipinos take the Civil Service Exam or the Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test or also called CSE-PPT. It is more popular as the Civil Service Exam, though. Step 1 – Check if you are qualified to take the CSE-PPT.

There are eligibility requirements or qualifications in taking the Civil Service Exam administered by the Civil Service Commission (CSC). To be eligible to take the said career service exam, the applicant must:

  1. Possess Filipino citizenship.
  2. Be at least 18 years old at the time of filing the application for the CSE-PPT.
  3. Demonstrate good moral conduct and must not have any convictions from a final judgment of an offense or crime.
  4. Have not been dishonorably discharged from military service or dismissed for cause from any government civilian position.
  5. Have not taken the same level of the CSE-PPT, whether through PPT or CSC Computerized Examination, within the three months prior to the exam date.

Step 2 – Gather the Requirements

The exam fee in taking the Civil Service Exam is P500. You must also prepare the specific documents that need to be presented in taking the exam.

Step 3 – Go to Civil Service Commission Office.

Visit the nearest office or building of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) within the date set for the application for CSE-PPT. The application period is usually announced weeks prior to the exam date.
