Wilbert Ross makes clarification about power-tripper boss on It’s Showtime
WILBERT ROSS – The actor made a clarification about the It’s Showtime boss who “bullied” him in the past.
Wilber, whose real name is Wilbert Marcelo Rosalyn, is an actor, singer, and dancer. His career began to take off in 2016 when he participated in the singing competition Tawag ng Tanghalan as a contestant on It’s Showtime. Although he was eliminated during the daily round, his talent caught the attention of viewers.
Later that year, he auditioned for Pinoy Boyband Superstar, where he impressed the audience with his rendition of “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You” and made it to the Top 20. In 2017, Wilbert joined the dance group Hashtags, becoming a regular performer and co-host on It’s Showtime.
It was in March this year when he admitted that he was a victim of a “power tripper” boss on the noontime show “It’s Showtime”. But in a recent interview with PEP.ph, he clarified that the said boss is no longer connected with the noontime program.
“Kaklaro ko lang yan, specific na tao lang siya, wala na siya sa Showtime, wala na siya sa ABS-CBN,” diin niya. Maliban sa tao na yun, wala akong kahit na anong negative na natatanggap sa ABS or Showtime. Okay ako sa kanilang lahat, specific na tao lang,” he said.
Wilbert explicitly stated that, apart from that particular boss, he has not faced any negative treatment from either ABS-CBN or the show. He expressed goodwill towards everyone else and wished to clarify that the issue should not reflect on It’s Showtime or ABS-CBN as a whole.
Wilbert also mentioned that Vice was aware of the situation and had provided support by involving him in segments. However, Wilbert was uncertain if Vice had directly addressed the issue with the boss.
