Child abandonment due to extreme poverty is a distressing issue in the Philippines. Families facing dire economic circumstances often feel compelled to make the heartbreaking decision to leave their children behind in order to ensure their survival.
These abandoned children are left to face numerous hardships, including hunger, lack of shelter, and limited access to education and healthcare. However, amidst the despair, there are acts of kindness from local officials, concerned citizens, and charitable organizations who provide immediate assistance and support to these children. Efforts are made to connect them with appropriate social services and find long-term solutions, such as foster care, adoption, or reunification with extended family members.
