Kris Aquino: “For now it’s definite I have 5, possibly 6 autoimmune conditions”

KRIS AQUINO – The former actress-host recently shared that she’s taking a new medicine against autoimmune conditions.

Kris recently gave an update about her health condition by posting a video on her social media account where she can be seen taking the first dose of her new medicine while still inside her doctor’s clinic.

On Wednesday, the former actress-host shared that she started to take her first “baby dose” of methotrexate — a class of medications called antimetabolites.

She shared in the caption of her post that her chest CT scan showed scarring and micronodules in her right lung, making it difficult for the doctor to convince her about taking methotrexate.

My lead Dr. in UCLA, Dr John Belperio had a difficult time convincing me about methotrexate because physically I knew my immunity wasn’t ready but when I saw my inflammatory numbers were high and so was my ANA,” Kris said.

The former actress-host also said that she “bit the bullet” and started to take her “baby dose” of the said medicine, which they plan on increasing as the weeks go by.
