Meet Clovis Hung, the 12-year-old who graduated from Fullerton College in California with 5 degrees
5 COURSES AT 12 – In a remarkable achievement, a 12-year-old boy named Clovis Hung has successfully completed five courses at Fullerton College in California, showcasing his passion for college education.
According to a report from the New York Post, Hung’s graduation from Fullerton College has made him the youngest graduate in the institution, following in the footsteps of a 13-year-old who previously held that title in 2020. The remarkable accomplishment of the 13-year-old served as an inspiration for Hung, motivating him to pursue his educational goals at an accelerated pace.
Hung’s journey at Fullerton College began in 2020 when he was 9 years old. His mother, Song Choi, made the decision to withdraw him from traditional public school as she felt it failed to satisfy his insatiable curiosity. She recognized her son’s thirst for knowledge and believed enrolling him in college would provide him with the best educational opportunities.
To facilitate Hung’s unique educational path, Fullerton College offers a program called “The Special Admit Program.” This program allowed Hung to enroll in college courses while completing the homeschool curriculum taught by his mother. The flexibility of this program enabled him to balance both academic pursuits effectively.
On May 20, Clovis Hung proudly graduated from Fullerton College, earning Associate of Arts degrees in various disciplines. His accomplishments encompassed degrees in History, Social Sciences, Social Behavior and Self-Development, Arts and Human Expression, and Science and Mathematics, highlighting his diverse range of interests and academic achievements.
Looking ahead to his future, Clovis Hung has expressed a keen interest in pursuing careers such as aerospace engineering, piloting, or pediatrics. His early exposure to college life and his exceptional academic accomplishments at such a young age provides a solid foundation for him to pursue his ambitions.
