Kaila Estrada: “My mom taught me to choose myself.”
KAILA ESTRADA – The actress recently shared the unforgettable lesson that her mother, actress Janice de Belen, taught her about love.
The “Love Bites” star is one of the three daughters of former couple Janice de Belen and John Estrada.
Kaila Estrada opened up about her views on what a healthy love really means to her during the press conference for the second season of ABS-CBN digital anthology “Love Bites”.
According to her, love is a choice but she feels like the worst thing a person can do is when a person loves, that someone forgets oneself. She also said that she feels like someone needs to learn how to love oneself as well.
“Love is a choice, hindi ba? Sometimes things don’t work out because you choose to [not] love yourself first and I think that is very important.”
The actress went on to share the unforgettable lesson her mother taught her about love. According to her, her mother taught her to choose herself.

Kaila also shared that she will forever be grateful to her mother for teaching her about love because she thinks it’s important to know about it. She also said that a person has to take care of oneself, adding that loving oneself will teach the person how to love other people better.
To recall, Kaila said in a previous interview with PUSH that her mother has always been her idol. She shared that her mother’s strength being a single mom and raising 5 kids and being in the showbiz industry is not easy.
“I super admire her for the strong woman that she is,” she said.
