An executive of ABS-CBN reacts on claim Liza Soberano was once offered to audition for Mary Jane in “Spider-Man: Homecoming”
ERIC JOHN SALUT – An executive of ABS-CBN reacted to the claims of Careless CEO Jeffrey Oh that Liza Soberano actress was once offered to audition for the role of Mary Jane in the movie, “Spider-Man: Homecoming”.
It was just recently when Oh revealed at the Philippine Creative Industries Summit that Liza was once offered to audition for the role of Mary Jane in the movie “Spider-Man: Homecoming”. However, she was not allowed by her past management.
“They reached out for her to audition to be Mary Jane, one of the most iconic characters. And she was not allowed because she had to do the same thing she was always doing. I really shouldn’t have said that. But it’s the truth,” he said.
According to the business partner of James Reid, the production team of “Spider-Man: Homecoming” was looking for a Filipina talent at the time.
“Imagine, a Filipina actress was a star of one of the biggest Marvel movies in history. Imagine she was Mary Jane, what that would do for Philippine entertainment,” he said as per Manila Bulletin. “But then she was in a 10-year contract, which is also unheard of anywhere else in the world.”
The claims of Jeffrey Oh earned reaction from netizens. Among those who reacted on the “revelation” of Careless CEO is no less than ABS-CBN executive Eric John Salut.
In the comment section of kowalerts’ Instagram post, the ABS-CBN official left “laughing emojis.” As expected, his comment generated mixed reactions from the netizens.
