Pia Wurtzbach: “Unfortunately, I’m not going to be able to join the London Marathon this year.”
PIA WURTZBACH – The beauty queen recently shared the reason why she decided to defer her plans to join this year’s London Marathon.
To recall, the beauty queen previously joined the London Marathon in order for her to raise funds for nonprofit organization Smile Train Philippines – an organization that helps and provides free surgeries to children with cleft conditions.
Pia posted a series of photos and videos on her Instagram account as she gave an update to her social media followers about her life in London – from giving herself a “wellness break” to getting in touch with family.
On Monday, she said that she had to defer some of her plans – including her plans to join this year’s London Marathon – to focus on her health, get in touch with her family, and focus on a “major life event”.

She went on to remind the public that she’s getting married “soon”. According to the beauty queen, she contemplated her decision for a long time because she doesn’t want to let anyone down.
Pia also said that she has a tendency to be hard on herself, especially when it comes to hitting her goals in life. She also said that marathon training and wedding planning will be a “stressful combo” for her.
“I know that deferring my entry this year is the right decision,” she said. “There will be many more Marathons and getting married is something I wanna focus on first and enjoy preparing for the wedding stress free.”
Despite this, Pia urged her fans to support her friends who will be running for the same cause. The beauty queen also sent her well-wishes to her supporters and revealed that she’s set to return to the Philippines “soon”.
Pia Wurtzbach announced last May 2022 that she and Jeremy Jauncey are engaged. It was last November 2022 when she announced her plans to join the London Marathon in 2023.
