MMA prodigy Victoria Lee passes away at the age of 18
VICTORIA LEE – The mixed martial arts prodigy passed away at the age of 18.
Lee, a mixed martial artist, was born and raised in Hawaii. She came from a long line of MMA fighters. Her brother, Christian, is the ONE Championship lightweight champion while her sister Angela currently holds the atomweight world championship title in the biggest MMA organization in Asia called ONE.
Her death was first cofirmed by her family. Her sister, Angela, took to social media wherein she posted a tribute.
Apparently, Angela did not disclose her cause of death but she reminded the people to “please check on your loved ones. Keep checking on them. Give them hugs and tell them how much they mean to you. You just never know.”
Victoria, who had earned the nickname “The Prodigy” by the time she was in her early teens, lived up to the hype by winning her first two ONE matches which she won via submission and another win via TKO; all matches happened in 2021.
Prior to the unfortunate turn of events, Victoria was scheduled to end her hiatus on January 14 with an atomweight match against India’s Zena Bano at ONE Fight Night 6: Superbon vs Allazov in Thailand.
Demetrious Johnson, Aung La N Sang, Rodtang Jitmuangnon, Miesha Tate, as well as other rising talents like the Filipina Denice Zamboanga and the Thai Nat “Wondergirl” Jaroonsak, were among those who expressed their sympathy to the bereaved family of Victoria Lee.
