Here’s the response of Suzette Doctolero to bashers of Voltes V: Legacy storyline
SUZETTE DOCTOLERO – The GMA head writer defended Voltes V: Legacy over “love story” and “agawan.”
On Monday, January 2, the creative writer took to social networking site, Facebook wherein she reacted to the criticisms that the live adaptation of the hit anime series has been receiving brought by its new storyline.
In the first part of her post, she noted: “manood muna bago mag Marites at gumawa na naman ng sariling haka-haka at mga hula.” She later explained why there’s a need to put a love story in the plot of the live adaptation of the classic Japanese anime.
According to her, the said anime doesn’t have a love story because it is for kids. Suzette Doctolero pointed out the “impossibility” of losing such an element in the live adaptation of the series featuring young characters.
She also gave a message to the bashers of the upcoming television series. “Iba ang anime sa live adaptations. Kasama sa pagsusulat ng live adaptations ang adjustment na gawin silang tao as much as possible. Tao, okey? Hindi cartoons,” she noted.
In the last part of her post, she encouraged the everyone to watch it first before judging the project. Meanwhile, Voltes V: Legacy is an upcoming science fantasy television series to be broadcast by GMA Network. The series is based on the Japanese anime television series Chōdenji Machine Voltes V by Toei Animation and Sunrise. Directed by Mark A. Reyes, it stars Miguel Tanfelix, Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, Raphael Landicho and Ysabel Ortega. The series is slated to air in 2023.
