Some pageant fans blamed President Bongong Marcos following the loss of Celeste Cortesi
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President of the Republic of the Philippines was blamed by some pageant fans following the loss of Celeste Cortesi in the Miss Universe 2022.
It was on January 14, 2023 (US time) when the 71st Miss Universe pageant was held. R’Bonney Gabriel of the United States was crowned as Miss Universe 2022. It is the United States’ first victory in 10 years.
Unfortunately, the country’s representative failed to enter at least the Top 16. Because of what happened, some pageant fans especially Filipinos took to social media wherein they vent out their disappointment and frustration.
But a Twitter user with a handle name @scorsaguin put the blame on President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for the results of the prestigious pageant. “t****** mo talaga wala ka nang ginawang matino sa bansang to @bongbongmarcos,” the netizen noted.
Her post generated mixed reactions from the netizens. There were social media users who agreed with the comment of @scorsaguin. Here are the commens of some Twitter users:
But not all netizens agree with the tweet of @scorsaguin. “I much as I hate our current administration let us be real here. The reason why our MU representative didn’t make it to the 16th cut is not because of our President but it’s because she failed to make it for whatever reason.” netizen @gboumy commented.
President Bongbong Marcos has yet to issue any statement regarding the turn of events in the Miss Universe 2022.
