Mikee Quintos admitted that being an actress wasn’t part of her dreams or plans.
MIKEE QUINTOS – The Kapuso actress and content creator recently spoke about becoming an actress.
The Kapuso star is the celebrity guest in the 40th episode of the “Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel” podcast.
Mikee admitted in an interview that being an actress wasn’t part of her dreams or plans. According to her, her career in showbiz started when she was recruited to audition for “Starstruck” but she didn’t make the cut at that time.
She also recalled that the same recruiter saw her at the mall show where her friend, who joined the reality talent show, was performing there.
Mikee also shared that she auditioned for Sparkle – a talent management agency of GMA Network – a week before the finals of the reality talent show her friend joined in and she signed on in the same month.
The content creator got her first breakout role as Lira in the Kapuso telefantasya series “Encantadia” after a year of attending workshops.

Mikee shared that she and her co-star Migo Adecer were tapped to do a screen test two months before the storycon. According to her, she received a lot of criticism despite getting the role in “Encantadia” since she was a new actress at that time.
“Tinanggal ko yung mga ganun, nagfocus ako sa gawin yung work, mag-aral ng script, nag-change po yung reactions ng mga tao,” Mikee said. “Dun ko rin natutunan ‘yun na you just stay yourself and meron kang proseso, magtiwala ka dun kasi magbubunga naman ‘yung hard work. And the rest is history.”
The Kapuso star also shared that she doesn’t plan on entering politics despite having her parents and a sister in politics, adding that she would only be there to support her family as she prefers and enjoys acting more.
