The creative teacher is Michael Ayore Royo, 33, from Pagbilao National High School. He’s been teaching for ten years. He is currently teaching English in Grades 8 and 10.

In an interview with Balita Online, Royo shared that he started to think of creative teaching methods during the early years of the pandemic. According to him, he dressed up to different characters to draw the attention of his students and make his discussion more enticing.

“The true inspiration is to bring life and color when it comes to teaching students since napakaikli ng attention span nila,” he said. “I decided to level up the strategy to let them learn and have fun at the same time. Importante sa’kin na engaged ang mga students to make sure that learning takes place inside the classroom,” he added.

The male teacher said that his efforts were effective because he noticed the increase in the scores of his students during examinations. Aside from dressing up as Captain Hook, Royo also dressed up as a news reporter, judge and chef in his English classes.

Royo said that he will do more to ensure that his students will learn. He stated that he will wear more costumes to make learning more appealing. “We may have the best technology nowadays but, we, TEACHERS, are still the BEST VISUAL-AIDS to our learners,” he stressed.
