JOPAY – The “singer” behind the cover of the hit song was seen jamming with a group of young people at an event as if in a concert.

Jopay is a hit song by the Filipino alternative rock band Mayonnaise. It rose to prominence in 2022 as a result of TikTok’s “Greatest What If” video, which was inspired by the 2022 film “Ngayon Kaya,” starring Janine Gutierrez and Paolo Avelino.

The song even reached number ten on Spotify’s Top 50 Philippines. Because of its popularity, the song became one of the most requested tracks during gigs last year.

It also generated different covers from serious to hilarious ones. One of the viral covers is courtesy of Marlon Paulino Banaag. Watch his rendition in the video provided below:

His cover definitely spread good vibes on social media despite the fact it was “out-of-tune.” Earlier, a video of him singing the song while in what appears to be a party. As usual, he used own tone while singing the iconic single. Watch the video below:

Meanwhile, Mayonnaise is a Filipino alternative rock band composed of vocalist Monty Macalino, drummer Shan Regalado, guitarist Carlo Servano, bass guitarist Nikki Tirona, and guitarist Keano Swing. The group rose to fame after winning the “Red Horse Muziklaban” contest in 2004.

Aside from Jopay, the group is also behind the hit songs; Tayo Na Lang Dalawa, Kapag Lasing Malambing, Bakit, Pt. 2, Ipagpatawad Mo, Paraan, Sinungaling, Binaliwala and to name a few.
