Here’s the opinion of Miss Q&A contestant Marigona Dragusha on the controversial Maharlika Wealth Fund
MARIGONA DRAGUSHA – The Miss Q&A 2018 5th runner-up gave her opinion about the controversial Maharlika Wealth Fund.
The bill establishing the P275 billion Maharlika Wealth Fund (MWF) is being expedited by Congress. The bill was written by several lawmakers, including Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, a causing of the president, Yedda Romualdez, a representative for the Tingog Party List, and Senior Deputy Majority Leader Sandro Marcos, the president’s son.
According to the proposed plan, the Maharlika fund would assemble P275 billion from banks and government pension funds for the purpose of funding pricey national development initiatives and other assets. It has come under fire from senators, representatives, and economists for having lax management controls and possibly putting pensioners at risk.
On Facebook, Miss Q&A contestant Marigona Dragusha shared her reaction to the controversial Maharlika Wealth Fund. She also took notice of how the public paid attention to the case of Vhong Navarro and not the national issues including the P500M confidential funds of Vice President Sara Duterte.
“Sobrang dami mong time mag-comment sa case ni Vhong Navarro pero wala kang comment sa 500M Confidential Funds ni Sara Duterte at 250B Maharlika Funds na maaring kunin sa pension ng mga Magulang mo. Do you really have to give chances sa mga taong paulit-ulit tayong ginagago harap-harapan? Noooo!!!” she wrote.
“Navarro’s case will not affect you directly. But, the OVP’s budget has direct implications on you cause you are a taxpayer. Isama mo na ang mga kinakaltas sa sahod mong SSS, GSIS contributions eventually ay maging funding source ng Maharlika Funds unless wala kang binabayaran at hindi ikaw ang nagbabayad. Make sense?” she added.
