Leni Robredo’s “Imported Bags” During her Trips Abroad Noticed by a Netizen

Netizen notices imported bags of former Vice President Leni Robredo during her trips abroad

LENI ROBREDO – After serving the nation for six years, the former vice president is now traveling abroad, but a netizen couldn’t help but notice her expensive clothing and bags.

Described by some of her supporters as “simple” and “down-to-earth”, a certain Krizette Laureta Chu took to social media wherein she posted some of the “imported bags” of Robredo. She also noticed Robredo’s Ferragamo Gancini clutch bag, which, according to the company’s website, costs €895 (P52,440).

She nonetheless thought it would be better for Robredo to stop using imported bags and start using goods made in her own country in order to support local artisans.

“Sayang na imported na bags ang gamit ni Mama when she’s traveling, considering she attends mga Katutubo Popup Market naman. Dami sanang magandang opportunities to use local bags.” she said.

Chu also made a suggestion to First Lady Liza Marcos, the wife of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., to use local bags and shoes when representing the country abroad,

“My suggestion to FL LIZA MARCOS, pls use local bags and shoes when representing our country abroad. You already support local designers so maybe we can show off nice bags from Aranaz, jewelry from Makitalo, etc,” she said.

As expected, her post generated mixed reactions from the netizens. Here are the comments of the netizens:

Meanwhile, Robredo served as vice president of the Republic of the Philippines under the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte. She ran for the highest post in the previous election but lost to PBBM.
