Netizens disappointed at CGI of Darna
DARNA CGI – The hit ABS-CBN’s fantasy series “Mars Ravelo’s Darna” earned massive criticism online due to it’s allegedly “low-budget” CGI or computer-generated imagery.
Mars Ravelo’s Darna is a superhero series airing on Kapamilya Channel. It is directed by Chito S. Roño, Avel Sunpongco and Benedict Mique. It stars Jane De Leon who plays the role of Darna/Narda Custodio: a young emergency medical technician.
Joshua Garcia, on the other hand, portrays the character of Police Master Sgt. Brian Samonte Robles in the series. He’s a young police officer and EMT at the same time Narda’s love interest. While Janella Salvador plays the role of Valentina/Atty. Regina Vanguardia: a lawyer and vlogger who is cursed with venomous snakes for her hair. She’s Darna’s archenemy and also has romantic feelings for Brian.
The series centers on the story of Narda who accepted her fate as Darna- the mighty protector of the potent stone from Planet Marte- when pieces of a green crystal scatter around the city and turn people into violent monsters.
Apparently. the series was under fire following its CGI in one of the episodes of Darna. In the said episode, Darna can be seen being chomped by a big snake which came from the head of Valentina.
However, instead of being amazed by the visual effects, many expressed their disappointment for the allegedly “low-budget” CGI. On its website, Fashion Pulis compiled the comments of the netizens regarding the episode. Here are the comments of some netizens:
Some netizens said that it seems the visual effects were as if during the 1980s era. One netizen even said that watching the series is a waste of electricity. Amid the criticism that the series is getting, the production team has yet to issue any statement.

Ang pangeeeeet po, napaka cheap tingnan tapos magtaka kayo kung bakit Mas gusto NG marami ang Korean series?? Nakita nyo naman Yun mga fighting scenes Nila at animations. Dapat tanungin nyo Yun mga Gumawa nyan.
