Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) is a drama anthology series that airs on Kapamilya Channel and is produced by ABS-CBN Entertainment. It debuted on May 15, 1991, and is hosted by Charo Santos-Concio.

It is the Philippines’ longest-running drama anthology, reaching its 30th year in 2021. Through letter sending, the program features weekly real-life stories or anecdotes of ordinary people, as well as famous celebrities and personalities.

The song “Maalaala Mo Kaya” by Constancio de Guzman serves as the inspiration for the program’s name. The song, which was performed by Dulce, also serves as the show’s opening theme. Carol Banawa has been performing the opening since the airings in the middle of the 2000s, replacing Dulce.

It was on November 21, 2022, Santos-Concio announced that the show will air its three-part finale episode before its finale on December 10, 2022.

Many people were sad with the drama anthology’s conclusion. Mel Tiangco, the host of the Kapuso drama anthology Magpakailanman, is among them. Watch her interview in the video below:

In an interview with Lionheart TV, Mel Tiangco said that she doesn’t like if ever MMK will end because it’s classic already. She’s hoping that it’s not true because according to her, “walang makakapalit sa Maalaala Mo Kaya.”

She stressed that the competition between her program, Magpakailanman and MMK are all “professional” and there’s nothing personal.
