At her recent “Start Up PH” press conference in Cebu City, Bea announced that she is now a legal resident of Spain after making a real estate investment of at least EUR 500,000 (approximately PHP 30 million) in an apartment in Madrid.

She shared that she just came from long vacation in Europe and the highlight of her 26-day vacation is her getting the “Golden Visa” — a loose term for the Residency by Investment (RBI) program of the Spanish government.

As a Spain resident, the actress is not required to stay in Spain but she can travel visa-free through the Schengen area of the European Union (EU). This benefit can extend to her mother, Mary Anne.

Bea also shared that she has been fascinated with the idea of living abroad.

I’ve always been fascinated with the idea of living abroad. But not because I already have a place there doesn’t mean doon ako titira,” she said. “Of course, am gonna live here (Philippines). It just so happened that I love Madrid, I love Spain and I have a lot of friends there.
