Vhong Navarro and Deniece Cornejo face off
VHONG NAVARRO AND DENIECE CORNEJO – The two are expected to face each other on Tuesday, October 11 in the arraignment of the r*pe case filed by the latter against the TV host-actor in a court in Taguig City.
Navarro surrendered to NBI on September 19, 2022, in accordance with the Warrant of Arrest issued against him.
Vhong Navarro coordinated with the NBI through his legal counsel, expressing his intention to voluntarily surrender in relation to the Warrant of Arrest issued by the Metropolitan Trial Court (MTC) Branch 116, Taguig City, on September 15, 2022, for Acts of Lasciviousness. Bail was set at Php 36,000.00 in the aforementioned case.
The actor appeared before the NBI with his counsel at Vtech Tower, G. Araneta Avenue, Quezon City, to voluntarily submit himself to the custody of the NBI. He was then subjected to the Bureau’s standard operating procedure.
But in the afternoon of the same day, the Regional Trial Court Branch 69 in Taguig City issued another Warrant of Arrest for R*pe with no bail recommended.
The actor-TV host is currently being detained at the NBI-Security and Management Section (NBI-SMS).
Meanwhile, the two are expected to face each other on Tuesday, October 11 in the arraignment of the r*pe case filed by Cornejo against Navarro in a court in Taguig City.
The hearing is set for 1:30 pm at the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 69.
Cornejo accused Navarro of r*ping her in her condominium unit on January 22, 2014. She later said the incident happened on January 17, 2014.
