What Toni Gonzaga has learned from Joey de Leon?
TONI GONZAGA – The actress-television host shared the lessons she learned from veteran TV host-comedian, Joey de Leon.
Toni, whose real name is Celestine Cruz Gonzaga-Soriano, is a singer, entrepreneur, host, actress, producer, vlogger, and singer.
She was the former lead host of the long-running reality show Pinoy Big Brother.
She decided to step down as the main host of PBB earlier this year after supporting the candidacy of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
It was in September 2022 when Toni Gonzaga, together with her husband, Paul Soriano, transferred to All TV.
Presently, she hosts the weekday afternoon talk show called Toni.
Gonzaga is gearing up for the movie, The Teacher, which is one of the official entries in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) starring Joey de Leon.
In a mediacon, Toni shared the lessons she learned from the veteran TV host-comedian.
According to her, she considers De Leon as her mentor in the showbiz industry.
When she got the chance to work with him on Eat Bulaga, she always observes him at the same time talk to him.
Then, she shared the lessons she learned from Joey.
It happened one time when she was the only one present to host a certain segment on Eat Bulaga since her colleagues were absent due to weather disturbance at the time.
“Naalala ko, sabi ni Tito Joey, ‘Huwag kang kabahan, huwag kang matakot. Dapat kapag host ka, kahit wala kang kasama, pag sinalang ka, kaya mong dalhin ang sarili mo. Huwag kang aasa sa kasama mo,” she said.
