CRISTY FERMIN — The veteran entertainment columnist believed actress-host Toni Gonzaga is fit to work as the Press Secretary of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. However, she said that it’s not Toni’s forte.
To recall, Toni’s husband Paul Soriano confirmed to ABS-CBN News that he was being tapped as the next Press Secretary but he declined the said offer and said that he “can be of better service behind the scenes” by working with the media and communications team of the President.
Paul Soriano is the nephew of First Lady Lisa Araneta Marcos through her first cousin, director Gines Soriano.

In the latest episode of “Cristy Ferminute”, the veteran entertainment columnist discussed the topic after social media users pointed to the actress-host to be the press secretary.
According to her, Toni Gonzaga can be the press secretary in terms of her capacity but it’s not her line of work.
“Unang-una, kung kapasidad po ang pag-uusapan, pwedeng pwede po si Toni Gonzaga na maging press secretary,” Cristy said. “Pero hindi naman po ito papasukin ni Toni, iba naman po ang takbo ng kanyang karera kaysa dito sa makukulong siya sa mundo ng pulitika. Hindi po ito ang kanyang linya, kung baga.”
Aside from this, Cristy also discussed about the “ahas sa loob ng palasyo”.
To recall, Madam Ely claimed in a social media post that there were “ahas” who sabotage former Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles prompting her to resign from her position. He, however, didn’t drop any name who might have sabotaged the former press secretary.
