Who is Alden Richards behind the camera?
The real name of Kapuso star Alden Richards is Richard Reyes Faulkerson Jr. He was born on January 2, 1992 to Richard Faulkerson Sr. and Rosario Reyes. He is the second child among four siblings with an older brother and two younger sisters. He grew up in Santa Rosa, Laguna. He wanted to be a pilot but his mother wanted him to be an actor.
Alden Richards Showbiz Career
The mother of Alden died. Following her death, he decided to enter showbiz to help his family financially and to fulfill the wish of his mother for him. He started by joining male beauty pageants in Laguna. He also worked as a part-time commercial model. He auditioned for PBB and Starstruck but he was not able to enter the reality shows. In 2010, he auditioned of GMA-7’s afternoon TV series Alakdana and passed the audition. He played the role of Joma in the said soap opera. Since then, more and more opportunities came his way. He had one of his biggest breaks when he became one of the hosts of Eat Bulaga and formed a phenomenal love team with Maine Mendoza – the AlDub. He top-billed several projects including the TV series Victor Magtanggol, The World Between Us, Destined to be Yours, and The Gift.
Alden also had a record-breaking movie with Kapamilya star Kathryn Bernardo in 2019 entitled “Hello, Love, Goodbye”. It remains to be the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time. The said movie was shot in Hong Kong and the actor played the character of Ethan del Rosario, an overseas Filipino worker (OFW).
