Katips vs Juliana Parizcova Segovia
JULIANA PARIZCOVA SEGOVIA – The camp of Katips has filed a cyber libel complaint against the comedian and former Miss Q & A winner.
Katips is a movie about a group of student activists from the Katipunan area of Quezon City who struggled to protest the imposition of nationwide martial law in the 1970s.
The film stars Jerome Ponce, Vince Tañada, Mon Confiado, Sazchna Laparan, Nicole Laurel Asensio and to name a few.
It is directed by Atty. Vince Tañada, the founder of the Philippine Stagers Foundation theater company.
It was during the 70th edition of the FAMAS Awards held last July 30, 2022, when he was awarded Best Actor and Best Director.
But according to Juliana, Vince won the FAMAS because he’s the director of the award-giving body.
Tañada finds his comment malicious, prompting their camp to file a complaint against the comedian.
According to the director, FAMAS is not the only award-giving body he has directed. Among those are the Aliw Awards, and Golden Wheel Awards, and name a few.
“E, kinuha ang aking services ng last year. Pero wala pa akong pelikula noon. Ni hinagap na gagawa ako ng pelikula pa that time, wala. March of 2021, wala pa,” he said.
The remark of Juliana against Katips prompted Atty. Roni Rodillas, a producer of the film, to file a case against the comedian.
“Medyo nasaktan sila dahil libelous nga raw yung sinabi ni Juliana kaya sila ang magdedemanda. Hinihintay na lang natin, ang alam ko nai-file na yun sa piskalya,” he said.
According to Vince, the case has been filed at the fiscal.
