Duterte hit his aide in a motorcycle accident
RODRIGO DUTERTE – The former president disclosed on Thursday that he recently experienced vertigo and figured in a motorcycle accident.
The 77-year-old ex-president made the revelation while speaking to his PDP-Laban colleagues at the PDP-Laban National Assembly in Pasay City.
“Nadisgrasya kasi ako…nagkaroon ako ng vertigo noong isang araw. [At] nag motor [rin ako], nadisgrasya na naman ako. I had two minor accidents,” he said.
According to him, he was driving on the highway when he collided with his security aide. He said he told his aide not to run strife with him because of his peripheral vision.
He even told them to stay behind him.
“Nabunggo ko iyong security ko. Mabuti after the MRI [magnetic resonance imaging], lahat lahat, okay naman siya. Lumipad talaga [siya] eh,” he added.
Duterte then stated that while his allies have discouraged him from riding his motorcycle again, he believes he still needs to do so.
“At that time, ayaw na ng mga security, iyang si Bingbong. Pero kapag napasukan na ng kaba, [dapat] sumakay ka ulit,” Duterte said in reference to former executive secretary Salvador Medialdea.
“Kasi kung hindi ka sasakay ulit, forever ka na matakot eh,” he added.
Duterte served the country as the chief executive from 2016 until President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., took over last June 30.
Duterte is known for being a motorcycle-riding enthusiast before becoming the nation’s former Chief Executive.
One of his favorite motorcycles is the Can-Am Ryker three-wheeled motorcycle.
