After Vhong Navarro’s arrest, Cedric Lee has broken his silence
CEDRIC LEE – The convicted businessman has broken his silence amid the arrest of the actor-television host, Vhong Navarro.
On September 19, 2022, Navarro surrendered to NBI pursuant to the Warrant of Arrest issued against him.
Vhong Navarro, through his legal counsel, coordinated with the NBI, expressing his intention to voluntarily surrender in relation to the Warrant of Arrest issued by the Metropolitan Trial Court (MTC) Branch 116, Taguig City, on September 15, 2022, for Acts of Lasciviousness. In the aforementioned case, bail was set at Php 36,000.00.
The actor appeared before the NBI with his counsels at Vtech Tower, G. Araneta Avenue, Quezon City, to voluntarily submit himself to the NBI’s custody. The Bureau’s standard operating procedure was then applied to him.
In the afternoon of the same day, the Regional Trial Court Branch 69 in Taguig City issued another Warrant of Arrest for R*pe against Vhong Navarro, with no bail recommended.
As a result, he was subjected to an antigen test, which resulted in a negative result, and he was turned over to the NBI-Security and Management Section (NBI-SMS) for detention.
Meanwhile, convicted businessman Cedric Lee has broken his silence amid the arrest of Vhong Navarro.
In a statement, Lee said Navarro should face all the charges filed against him.
According to him, he can’t hide anymore behind former Senator Leila de Lima, who was the Justice Secretary at the height of the 2014 incident involving Cedric Lee, Vhong Navarro, and Deniece Cornejo.
He added that he can’t hide behind Tony Calvento and ABS-CBN as well since the broadcast journalist is already dead while the network doesn’t have a franchise.
