Bato dela Rosa on Loren Legarda: “Pwedeng ma-question ang kanyang loyalty”
BATO DELA ROSA – The former PNP chief-turned-senator reacted to the statement of Senator Loren Legarda about the CPP-NPA-NDF.
The Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) rebellion is the world’s longest ongoing communist insurgency and is the largest, most prominent communist conflict in the Philippines.
The history of the rebellion can be traced back to March 29, 1969, when Jose Maria Sison’s newly formed CPP entered an alliance with a small armed group led by Bernabe Buscayno.
Buscayno’s group was renamed the New People’s Army (NPA) and became the armed wing of the CPP.
National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP), on the other hand, serves as the political wing of the CPP.
Recently, Senator Loren Legarda admitted that she once worked with the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP).
“I have worked with the NDF and I’m not ashamed of it. I agreed with them on many subject matters that are close to our hearts,” she said.
She then stressed that there’s no law proving that the leftists are “enemies of the state.”
Her controversial statement earned the reaction of renowned personalities including religious leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa also reacted to the statement of Legarda about CPP-NPA-NDF.
According to Dela Rosa, Legarda should choose whom she will side with; either the government or the “enemies of the state” since she’s a senator and reservist of the Philippine Air Force.
“Pwedeng ma-question ang kanyang loyalty.. dahil hindi pupwedeng pula-puti ka kapag nasa serbisyo ka. Hindi pwedeng kaliwa-kanan ka kung you are wearing the uniform,” he said.
“Kung magpapakita ka ng simpatya doon sa mga kalaban ng estado, kwestyunable ‘yung personalidad mo,” he added.
