A kind-hearted jeepney driver goes viral and earns praises online for giving free rides to those who have nothing.
A Facebook user named Ian Macalanda has shared the photo of a jeepney driver who gives free rides to those who have no cash. The post immediately circulates online and garnered admiration from the netizens.
In the photo, the signage behind the driver’s seat states the fare rates for passengers taking the Divisoria-Sangandaan route. The driver charges P11 for regular passengers within the first four kilometers.
The driver also charges P10 for students, PWD, and senior citizens. At the bottom of the signage, the driver said that those who have no cash can give him “Thank you” instead of paying the fare.
“Tiningnan ko lang magkano na yung minimum fare then napansin ko yung note sa baba,” Ian said.
The photo has been taken last Tuesday (August 9, 2022). Macalanda is heading to Divisoria when he saw the placard. He takes a photo and posted it on his social media account. He also shows his admiration for the driver’s kindness.
The driver shows kindness and consideration to his fellow countrymen despite the surging prices of petroleum products.
“Nakakatuwa po. Sobra. Dahil sa kabila ng nagtataasang presyo ng mga produktong petrolyo ngayon, may mga tao pa rin na may mabubuting puso na gumagawa ng simpleng mabubuting bagay para sa mga kapwa tao,” Macalanda said.
