What Jaime Fabregas has to say about mandatory ROTC?
JAIME FABREGAS – The veteran actor was not in favor of the mandatory Reserve Officers’ Training Corps or ROTC.
Some senators are determined to revive the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program as a mandatory subject for Filipino students.
Even the Department of Education headed by Vice President Sara Duterte and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) are backing the reinstatement of mandatory ROTC.
Apparently, there are some who are not in favor to reinstate the mandatory Reserve Officers’ Training Corps.
Among those is veteran actor Jaime Fabregas.
Fabregas is popular in his role as Lolo Delfin in the top-rating series, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
Recently, he went to the microblogging site, Twitter wherein he shared his opinion about mandatory ROTC.
Here’s the comment of Jaime Fabregas about mandatory ROTC:
According to him, the children should be taught how to love the country so that they won’t need to undergo ROTC because after all, they will defend the motherland with everything they have.
Some of his followers agreed with his remark about ROTC. However, there are some who are against his comment.
“Dear Jaime Fabregas…. The reason you train at ROTC is so that it would be the invader who will die for his country and not you,” Atty. Darwin Cañete said.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said that mandatory ROTC will not only teach the youth to defend the country but also prepare them whenever there is a disaster. In other words, disaster preparedness.
