Amidst the onslaught of the severe tropical storm Florita, DILG gave an update on PBBM’s directive.
FLORITA UPDATE — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. directed the identification of available evacuation centers amidst the onslaught of the severe tropical storm.
On Tuesday, DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos said at the Palace briefing that identifying available evacuation centers was among the President’s directives during their Cabinet meeting.
He also guaranteed that water and food supplies were available for families affected by Severe Tropical Storm Florita.
According to Abalos, the DILG is in constant touch with the local government unit (LGU) partners on the ground and everything — including water and food — is in place.
“Kanina ho galing kami sa Cabinet meeting, ito nga ang binilin niya, so ensured na talagang naka-monitor at naka-identify na po ang mga evacuation centers dito,” Abalos said. “Just like the DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development), we are in constant touch with our local government unit partners na nasa baba po.“
