A delivery rider was supposed to deliver a mannequin but got pulled over by traffic enforcers
MANNEQUIN – A delivery rider in Puerto Princesa in Palawan gets pulled over after traffic enforcers noticed that his back rider was not wearing a helmet, turned out it was a mannequin.
Wearing a helmet is not just a requirement for motorcycle riders. It is also a safety precaution for unprecedented events such as accidents. Even back riders are required under the law to wear a standard helmet while riding a motorcycle.
In fact, RA 10054, or the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009, mandated motorcycle riders to wear standard protective motorcycle helmets while driving and provide penalties therefor.
For local government units (LGU), the fine for not wearing a standard motorcycle helmet may vary. For example, some cities have ordinances that prescribe a P200.00 fine up to a P500.00 fine for not wearing a standard motorcycle helmet.
For the Land Transportation Office (LTO), riders follow what’s prescribed in RA10054 and put a penalty of P1,500.00 for the first offense, P3,000.00 for the second offense, and P5,000.00 for the third offense, and finally, P10,000.00 plus confiscation of the driver’s license.
Apparently, a delivery rider was pulled over by traffic enforcers after noticing that the back rider was not wearing a helmet.
In the photos which were posted by the Facebook page, Viral Photos, the delivery rider can be seen being pulled over by traffic enforcers.
Based on the caption, the delivery rider was pulled over because his back rider was not wearing a helmet, when in fact, it was a “MANNEQUIN” up for delivery.
