Robinhood Ferdinand Cariño Padilla is an actor, politician, screenwriter, producer, and director.

He is known as the “Bad Boy” of Philippine cinema for portraying anti-hero protagonist gangster roles in films such as Anak ni Baby Ama, Grease Gun Gang, Bad Boy, and Bad Boy 2.

He has also been dubbed the “Prince of Action” of Philippine cinema.

Padilla is also active in television programs, having played lead roles in Basta’t Kasama Kita, Asian Treasures, Joaquin Bordado, Totoy Bato, Guns and Roses, and Toda Max.

Robin, a neophyte in politics, led the previous senatorial election with over 26 million votes.

The senator had been vocal in admitting that he’s having a hard time speaking in English during Senate sessions especially at the plenary.

Because of this, there were people who criticize him. Others even called him “incompetent” and “not suitable” for the job.

Among his critics is actor Audie Gemora.

“You put a kinder-gardener in graduate school and expect the class to adjust?” Gemora noted.

But a netizen named MJ Quiambao Reyes came out to defend the actor-turned-senator.

“Una, bago po kayo mang insulto, siguruhin n’yo po muna na tama ang spelling nyo ng KINDERGARTNER para di ka naman nakakahiya,” Reyes said.

Here’s the whole statement of Reyes:

Padilla eventually thanked Reyes for defending him and according to him, he’s still adjusting to his new job.
