Vivian started her career in the show business in 1976 when she was only 16 years old.

She was dubbed as the “Ms. Body Beautiful” of Philippine movies in the 1980s.

Through the years, she has received numerous acting awards including FAP Award for Best Actress because of her role in the 1983 movie, Pieta as well as FAMAS Award and Metro Manila Film Festival for Best Actress in Paradise Inn.

Recently, she went to the social networking site, Facebook wherein she expressed her support for PBBM.

On Facebook, she posted some photos of her along with the President of the Republic of the Philippines.

Her post was accompanied by the caption: “Mr. President, we did not campaign for you but as the duly elected president… you have our support. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!”

Many were surprised since Velez has been known as a staunch critic of the president during the campaign season.

He even called the president “mayabang” as well as criticized his absence in the presidential debates.

Apparently, there are people criticizing her, calling her “balimbing.”

“Ang daming bitter na hindi maka move on.. Tapos na ang campaign, may nanalo na. Just so you know, I am not utak ‘dilawan’ (bitter to the max) and some ‘loyalistas’ feeling entitled dahil nanalo ang kandidato nila,” she explained.

Vivian Velez has resigned as Director-General of the Film Academy of the Philippines.
