“Palpak” Traffic Light Goes Viral & Earns Reactions Online

The video footage of a “palpak” traffic light at a road intersection goes viral and earned criticism from the netizens.

Traffic lights, traffic signals or stoplights are signaling devices positioned at road intersections, pedestrian crossings, and other locations to control flows of traffic. The different colors of lights tell drivers what to do.

The green light gives the go signal, yellow as preparatory and red for a full stop. Motorists who will ignore or disrespect the signals will be subject to corresponding sanctions and penalties.

However, the government and traffic authorities should ensure the functionality of traffic lights to prevent traffic problems along the road.

A Facebook user named Ninia Tayag Relanes has shared the video footage of a malfunctioning traffic light at a road intersection. The video footage circulates online and garnered various reactions from social media users.

In the video, it can be seen that numerous motorists are queueing up at a road intersection while waiting for their turn to pass. The red traffic light indicates a stop sign prompting the motorcycle riders and car drivers to wait for the green light.

Unfortunately, the traffic light malfunctioned and the countdown returns to nine after it turned to zero.

The malfunctioning traffic light makes motorists wait a little bit longer than usual because of the technical problem.
