A lawyer lectures Rowena Guanzon following her remark that she’s an “elected official”
ROWENA GUANZON – A lawyer lectured the P3PWD Party-list representative after the congresswoman said she’s an “elected official.”
Guanzon served as commissioner of Comelec from 2015 to 2022 under former President Benigno Aquino III and President Rodrigo Duterte.
She also served as Mayor of Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, and as Commission on Audit (COA) commissioner.
She also served as chief of staff to late Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago, whom she still considers a role model.
It was on February 2 when Guazon retired from her post as Comelec commissioner.
Guanzon has been making a buzz online following her word war with talent manager Annabelle Rama. It started when she accused Ruffa Gutierrez of allegedly firing two of her house helpers without giving them their salaries.
Guanzon first wrote about her accusation against Gutierrez through a blind item.
Eventually, she dropped the name of the actress. Ruffa denied the accusation.
According to her, the accusation against her is not true. She added that there was an incident taking place in their house while she was on the set of the movie, Maid in Malacañang.
Allegedly, the two house helpers- who have been with her for only two weeks are teaming up to quarrel with the mayordoma or butler serving her for almost 18 years.
The actress added that whenever she’s not around, the two new house helpers quarrel with their fellow helpers.
Earlier, in her “bardagulan,” Guanzon stressed that she’s an elected official and not an actor.
But according to Atty. Bruce Rivera, Rowena Guanzon cannot be considered an “elected official” because she’s a party-list representative.
