For his studies, an honor student wants to get adopted
JERICO CAMPARICIO – An honor student from Palawan is looking for someone to adopt him and hire him as a house helper so that he can continue his schooling.
“Poverty is not a hindrance to success.”
It is an old proverb that tells us that one can achieve his/her dreams in life no matter what; whether being poor or not coming from a well-off family or having a low economic status.
But poverty somehow hinders Jerico, a consistent honor student from Roxas, Palawan to achieve his dreams despite doing everything so that he can finish his studies and have a good future.
It was just recently when he went to the social networking site, Facebook wherein he posted an open letter.
In a post, he noted that he wanted to get adopted so that he could study. But in return, he’s going to work as a house helper.
Jerico is an incoming senior high school student. He graduated last June as a consistent honor student.
According to him, their father had left them in 2005 while his mother already had her own family.
He’s staying at his friend’s house and in order to support his studies, he sells dried fish, puto bumbong, and other foods online.
He has six other siblings but he’s the only one determined to finish his studies.
Many netizens suggested to him some ways to study for free such as applying to government scholarship programs as well as in the private sector.
Some residents in Roxas, Palawan, also wanted to extend their help to Jerico.
