Ex-DA Sec. Manny Piñol Calls BBM’s Decision to Lead Department of Agriculture a “Brilliant Move”

Here’s the reaction of Piñol to the decision of BBM to lead the Department of Agriculture

MANNY PIÑOL – The former secretary of the Department of Agriculture called the decision of President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to lead the DA a “brilliant move.”

Piñol is a politician, journalist, writer, agriculture advocate and agribusinessman.

He recently served as Secretary of Agriculture (2016–2019) and Mindanao Development Authority (2019–2021) under the administration of outgoing President Rodrigo Duterte.

He once served as the mayor of M’lang, Cotabato from 1995 to 1998. He then served as governor (1998–2007) and vice governor (2007–2010) of Cotabato.

He had also worked for the National Grains Authority.

Recently, he went to the social networking site, Facebook wherein he shared his reaction to BBM’s decision to lead the Department of Agriculture.

According to him, BBM’s decision to become the DA secretary in the meantime is the “best” and “brilliant move.

Earlier, BBM said that he’s going to lead the agriculture department “at least for now” amid the crisis. He’s planning to focus on food production.

Meanwhile, BBM is set to take over the presidency this coming June 30.

Among those who will be part of his Cabinet are the following; Victor Rodriguez as Executive Secretary, Juan Ponce Enrile as Chief Presidential Legal Counsel, Vice President-elect Sara Duterte as Secretary of Education, Benjamin Diokno as Secretary of Finance, Benjamin Abalos Jr. as Secretary of the Interior
and Local Government, Erwin Tulfo as Secretary of Social Welfare and Development, Clarita Carlos as National Security Adviser and to name a few.
