Actress-turned-politician Angelika dela Cruz received a death threat
ANGELIKA DELA CRUZ – The actress-turned-politician took to social media wherein she exposed that she received a death threat.
Angelika whose real name is Maria Lourdes Egger dela Cruz-Casareo is an actress-singer, who’s now a politician.
She started acting at the age of seven when she appeared in the 1988 film Nagbabagang Luha.
Since then, she has appeared in television shows and movies such as the primetime drama Mara Clara and Esperanza. She later left the ABS-CBN Network and transferred to GMA Network to do other primetime dramas.
She gained attention when she won the Best New Actress of the year award at the PMPC Star Awards for Movies for her very first movie Nights of Serafina.
When her father passed away, she decided to venture into politics.
Currently, she’s the Chairwoman of Barangay Longos in Malabon.
In the past months especially during the height of the pandemic, Angelika has been figured in different kinds of “paninira.”
But this time, she received a death threat.
Earlier, she went to the social networking site Facebook wherein she shared about receiving a death threat.
“Napaka dumi po tlg ng politika sa ating bansa .. yan po ang sulat at bala na pinadala sa XO ng aming Barangay na nagsasabi na may 4 daw na susunod at kaya may umiikot na d kilala sa bahay naming magkapatid.. grabe naman kayo kung sino man kayo na gumagawa nito sa amin,” she said.
Her post was then flooded with comments. Some netizens expressed their concern for the actress.
