Xian Lim talked about being a Kapuso
Actor-host Xian Lim, who has also ventured into directing, shared his “panawagan” to the bosses of his new home network, GMA-7.
Xian is ecstatic to be a Kapuso. Over the years, he has shown his versatility. He can sing, act, and do hosting stints. Back in 2019, he made his directorial debut and it was for the indie movie Tabon that was shown on Cinemalaya.
“Being a director is a surreal experience. Kaya nga sobra kong ina-idolize sina direk Irene [Villamor],” the Kapuso star shared during a recent interview by PEP.
He shared that when he was starting in showbiz, it was Direk Irene who wrote his first movie in 2013 which was Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo with his girlfriend Kim Chiu.
Currently, Direk Irene is Xian Lim’s director in his Kapuso series False Positive with Glaiza de Castro. “So yung fulfillment just to be able to direct a scene, to frame a shot or to write a story, nothing can beat that feeling. So parang ano lang, out-of-this-world experience,” he shared.
Being a new Kapuso, Xian said that he is looking forward to having directorial projects and not just acting projects. With this, he jokingly aired his “panawagan” to GMA’s bosses.
“Iyon nga po, e. Ngayon po mga Kapuso, nananawagan po ako sa mga boss na nanonood. Kung naka-record man po ito, sana po ay i-share niyo rin po ito,” the actor quipped.
Xian Lim added that he hopes he will be given the opportunity to direct himself in a TV series. How will he do this? The actor said that it is going to be a big challenge for him but definitely a dream come true.
