Here’s the tribute of Robina Gokongwei-Pe to Ping Lacson
ROBINA GOKONGWEI-PE – The president and CEO of Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc. took to social media wherein she paid a tribute to presidential candidate, Senator Ping Lacson.
Lacson ran for president alongside his running mate Sen. Tito Sotto.
However, he failed to win the highest government position against Ferdinand “Marcos” Jr. who’s now leading the race with over 31 million votes.
A day or two after the election, Lacson announced that he was retiring from politics.
His decision to leave politics after 50 years of government service earned the respect of Robina Gokongwei-Pe, the daughter of late business mogul John Gokongwei.
Gokongwei’s are the owner of Universal Robina and Robinsons.
Recently, she went to Facebook wherein she paid a tribute to Lacson and at the same time shared a story about how she and her cousin was rescued by Lacson from the hands of kidnappers in August 1981.
During that time, Lacson is an official of the Metropolitan Command of the Philippine Constabulary.
Here’s the full statement of Robina:
Robina also became controversial in the ’80s after her name was linked to an urban legend.
Robina allegedly had a twin snake hiding in the fitting room of the department store they owned and attacking customers. It is said that actress Alice Dixson was among the victims of the snake attack.
Apparently, there is no truth to the urban legend because Alice is very much alive and no snake has been seen in the fitting room of the Gokongwei department stores.
